2 versions of Storyline on 1 Windows

Jan 20, 2021

Hi,

Is there a way to have two different versions of Storyline on the system?

We usually use an older build, but just for one project we need to use the newest build.

Hi Nikita,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you would like to do with your software.

You can have different versions of the software installed on the same computer, such as Storyline 2, Storyline 3, and Storyline 360.

For versioning within Storyline 360, we recommend you use the steps shared here.

Would you be able to share the reason you are using an older version of the software? I'd love to be able to help and/or verify that we have any issues documented.

Hi Leslie,

Thank you for the answer. The product is Storyline 360- for this, I'd need to switch between the versions, there is not an option to have two versions within Storyline 360 correct?

I can say that we usually use older version because it has a different Player interface that fits our purpose.

Good morning, Nikita!

That's a great question, and I appreciate the extra context.

Right now, there isn't a way to have multiple updates of Storyline 360 installed on your machine.

However, if you use separate hard drives, one idea is to install different versions of Storyline 360 on each one. You'll still need to log in with your Articulate ID into your Articulate 360 subscription, and the second hard drive will count toward the two desktop devices maximum

Let me know if any more thoughts come up. Happy to chat further!
