3 Questions about Quiz Slides

Dec 27, 2017

Hello E-Learning Heroes!... I'm in need of some information.  Does the LMS store selected answers if you keep them hidden from the user?  How do you hide the selected answers in a scenario of creating pre & post quizzes? (where you don't want the answers revealed in the pre quiz)  What's the difference between Freeform vs Other Quiz slides?

These are great questions, Ira! Let's tackle them one at a time.

  1. Here is a list of the data that Storylines ends to your learning management system.  Once that data is compiled in the LMS database, there's really no limit to what kind of analysis you can perform (assuming the LMS grants access to the data)!  I'd recommend reaching out to your LMS Administrator to find out what options they have available for reporting and data analysis.
  2. Can you tell me more about what you had in mind in regards to hiding selected answers in pre & post quizzes? Are you wanting to hide selected answers if the learner goes back to review slides they have already visited?
  3. Storyline has two types of quiz questions:
    • Form-based questions: This includes question types such as multiple choice, true/false, multiple selection, and so on. Because they're form-based, they are quick and easy to assemble.
    • Freeform questions: The freeform tools let you turn normal slide objects—like pictures, shapes, characters, text boxes, and markers—into engaging interactions. These questions are completely flexible and customizable.

I hope that helps!

Hi Alyssa!

Thanks for the response, the info on Form-based & Freeform questions really did help!  After some playing around I figured out the answer to my second question.  I was looking to hide the immediate response received after a question is answered, I found it in under "Question Tools", "Design"..  And thanks for the list of data sent to the LMS!
