A variable that can capture quiz time

Feb 05, 2014

I'm creating a game where learners have to answer 10 questions. If they answer all 10 correctly in less than 10 min., they get a GOLD medal. If they answer all 10 correctly within 10 - 12 min., they get a SILVER medal. And, If they answer all 10 correctly within 12 - 14 min., they get a BRONZE medal.

i can set the timer at 14 min. But at the results slide, I would like to show the time the learner took to complete all 10 questions. How do I capture the time they took and award the medals accordingly.

If anyone's curious...I'm creating a Downhill Skiing game (as its the Winter Olympics time). Here are some details...

About the game:

Downhill Skiing involves the highest speeds and therefore the greatest risks of all the Alpine events. Racers exceed speeds of 130 km/h (81mph). Competing in Downhill Racing requires skiers to perfect an aerodynamically efficient position to minimize drag and increase speed. The downhill course is marked by gates formed by paired poles through which the racer must pass.

Object of the game: Complete the course (re. quiz) in the shortest time, without missing any gates (re. questions).

Gaming Strategy:

·         Serve 10 questions from a question bank (randomized for each attempt)

·         Track the time players take to complete all 10 questions

·         Define upfront what qualifies as ‘Gold’, ‘Silver’, ‘Bronze’, and ‘Disqualified’

·         GOLD – Correctly answer all 10 questions in < 10 min.

·         SILVER – Correctly answer all 10 questions within 10 to 12 min.

·         BRONZE – Correctly answer all 10 questions within 12 to 14 min.

·         DISQUALIFIED – If they get even one answer wrong, they are disqualified

Multiple attempts allowed.
