Ability to force learners to both see and hear all content

Jan 29, 2020

I'm thinking surely I'm not the only person thinking this??  I would love to have a product where I can set the completion parameters for a learner so that they have to see all the slides/content, and hear all the audio as well.  Currently, Storyline either tracks in an LMS by testing or by "seeing" (really means just clicking on) a certain number of slides.

As such, someone can be going through important learning and look like they're getting it done, but in reality they're not spending the time to pay attention.  And I don't want to be testing them to death to ensure they heard/saw it all.

Is any such thing in the works?  Did I miss something and it's already possible?!

Hi Michelle!

You're right, Storyline tracks progress 3 ways; reporting a results slide, using a completion trigger, or tracking the number of slides viewed.

The way to build a course that ensures the learner listens/interacts with the content on a slide is by using triggers! For example, use the trigger "Change state of Next button to Disabled when the timeline starts on This Slide" and "Change state of Next button to Normal when the timeline ends on this slide ". You could possibly add conditions that list what the user needs to accomplish before moving onto the next slide.

Please keep me updated if you need any guidance!
