Access to Online Resources

Jul 31, 2012

Has anyone experienced the inability to see the online resources (tutorials, templates) in the right hand pane of the Storyline start screen?  The message "When you're connected to the Internet, Storyline will provide helpful tutorials and free templates here." is showing but I know that I'm connected to the Internet.

I am sure this is a configuration setting at my location that is blocking this as I see similar symptoms with other applications that link out to online resources, but I am hoping that someone can give me some ideas as to where to look to make a configuration change.  My IT department is stumbling over this and so far has not offered a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

You may need to set up a proxy server address in Storyline to get to these resources.  Find out from your IT folks if you do use a proxy server and then what its address is and what port it uses.

Then, to enter that info:  Click the big "A" button in the upper left of the Storyline screen and then [Storyline Options]:

Then select "Use proxy server" and enter in the proxy server info:

Let us know if that works for you or not.

We are not currently using a proxy server.  I am not sure if that is an option in our network configuration but I will check with IT.  I'm not sure if you're suggesting that going through a proxy might solve the problem or if Storyline just needs to be aware of a proxy if one exists, but as I said, we don't currently go through a proxy.
