Accessibility and Software Simulation (Try-mode)

Aug 01, 2016

Hey everyone!  I am currently building a software simulation activity (to be used in Try mode) in Storyline and wanted to know if anyone had any helpful tips for making sure that the activity is accessible for students who require screen readers.  I know that Storyline can be published so that the finished product is 508 compliant, but I am concerned about how students will be able to tab through the software simulation and have certain headings/subheadings/content read aloud.

Any suggestions?

Hi, Taylor -- Thanks so much for reaching out here! While I am not an expert on 508 compliance or accessibility, I thought I might pass along this discussion where screen readers and software simulations were discussed, and also the following general 508 resources:

Hopefully others will have additional insights to share, as well!
