Accessibility if not using the Storyline player

Dec 09, 2020

I'm trying to find out what accessibility options are available to me in Storyline 360 if I don't use the player? So most of our courses use custom buttons and an 'invisible' player, so no player features really. Can I just make sure the 'alt' tags are in a relevant order and descriptive enough for screen readers? Just looking for any other peoples' experiences. Thanks

I'm also interested in this.

It seems to me that truly the 'no player' option is inaccessible for courses using media since captions can't be triggered by a button...okay, you can have accessible text on by default but you still can't let users activate the zoom to fit.

Adding these as trigger actions would help...

I'm finding it difficult to source definitive answers as custom content isn't really discussed. It all seems to take it for granted that you're using the player to deliver. I have found you can add the little gear icon (accessibility controls) in the player features and it appears even if nothing else is (I think) so you can access those 3 features including zoom. It's very much trial and error. Be good to hear from someone that's had experience of this rather than just extolling the features of the new shiny player. Creative deliveries often don't use the player.
