Accessibility Issue with Mac

Feb 24, 2021

We have created few accessible courses using Storyline 360 (version 3.43). Accessible behaviour of these courses is fine with JAWS-19 when viewed on Chrome. But when tested on voiceover via mac with safari and the screen navigation methods appear to differ from how it does on JAWS. The voiceover focus is still not outlining the correct text, the navigation seems out of sorts.

Hi Lalit!

Sorry, you're running into this issue! I've noticed this on my end, too, with VoiceOver. Both NVDA and JAWS use a Focus Rectangle and have a setting to turn on/off the Focus Rectangle. Unfortunately, VoiceOver doesn't offer this control.

If using the Focus Rectangle is important to you or your learners, it might be best to consider using NVDA or JAWS.

Hello Sumit Agrawal!

I'm happy to help! I've tested this using Storyline 360 (Build 3.52.25156.0), and I see the focus moves as expected when I'm navigating the course. Are you using the latest version of Storyline 360 too? This isn't something that was addressed within our updates, but it could've been an enhancement for VoiceOver.
