Accessibility issues

I am creating a course and when I publish the course the 'voice' does not speak in the narrator/voice over. When I look at the product in storyine it has the yellow boxes that suggest items will be read however it just says tab and doesn't read anything. Is there something I need to switch on or enable? I have written text in text boxes and in caption boxes and in picture boxes.

Hi Ranu. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
What screen reader are you using for the course? If it's JAWS, you may want to take a look at the information in the following thread:
Storyline - Screen Reader issues - 508 compliance
Hi Ranu, welcome to the community
Storyline doesn't have a built-in text-to-speech screen reader. You'll need to use a third-party tool like JAWS to dictate the text highlighted by the yellow accessibility boxes.
A speech-to-text accessibility tool would make a great feature request, though!
Can we assume then that if a person has a third party software program like JAWS, that it will automatically read everything in the yellow text box. To confirm this do I need to purchase JAWS and test it?
Kind Regards
That's correct, Ranu.
Storyline's Flash output is fully 508-compliant, including support for JAWS readers.
Here's even more information on Storyline's 508 compatibility.
Hope that helps, Ranu
Hi Ranu,
I believe there's a free trial for JAWS, if you want to test it out, actually. I wasn't aware of that before, so I may end up doing the same when I have the opportunity
You can find this information on the JAWS Product Information Page - scroll down until you see the "Free Trial" information on the right-hand side of the page.
Thanks for that feedback! I'll give it a go.
