Accessibility of HTML / HTML5 Storyline courses

Jun 26, 2014

Hello, I'm trying to find out if courses published to html / html 5 for use on tablets comply with accessibility standards - .508 or WAI.

The most recent discussion I found was from 2012 which suggested that it isn't compatible. (http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/19444.aspx) You'll need to scroll down through the thread to see the reply from Peter Anderson.

I would like to know if there has been any update or change since then?

Thank you.

HI Thomas and welcome to Heroes!

Articulate Storyline’s Flash-based output is Section 508 compliant, including support for:

  • JAWS readers
  • Full keyboard navigation
  • Visible focus indicator
  • Video subtitles using timed text boxes
  • Slide transcripts using the Notes tab

To view Storyline's Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), click here.

Content published for HTML5 and the Articulate Mobile Player isn't Section 508 compliant. The story.html link would be the Flash output.
