I appreciate all the work you have been doing on making your products accessible. The latest update (released yesaterday) has completely changed the way my screen reader works. I am using the NVDA screen reader and I understand it now reads everything on the screen sequentially without having to tab through text boxes.
The problem I am having is that it reads the slide name 2-3 times. It does it again when I view another layer. How do I stop this occurring. Also on Edge it's not reading the text in my layers automatically. I am using the latest version of Edge and Chrome.
Also, would you mind sharing your file with me? I'd like to test it on my end. You can attach the file to this discussion by using the "Add Attachment" button.
Thanks for your reply. I had all the menus and controls turned off on the player and have been using custom navigation. I've reverted back to the previous version of storyline so I can't test it.
My storyline file has sensitive information so I don't want to share it publicly. Is there a way I can share privately?
Many thanks,
Sasha

Thanks for letting us know you're running into the issue of slide name being read multiple times as well. We have the issue reported to our team, and we'll be sure to jump back in here when we have any progress to share.
Good day, I was wondering if you had anything to share on this. Our development is at a bit of a standstill until we can get the player issue resolved. Rolling back right now doesn't appear to be an option we can explore.
Unfortunately, there isn't a timeline to share yet! As our team continues to investigate this bug, we'll have a better idea of the timeline. As always, we'll report back to this discussion when we hear of an update.
Hi all, I have the same issue. I am also using NVDA and have even another weird thing going on. My first slide has no audio but there is text in the notes. When I proceed to slide 2, NVDA reads the slide title 3 times, then reads the text in the notes section of slide 1. It's super weird. Any idea what's causing that?
Thanks for reaching out as well with what you're experiencing! We do have a known bug for NVDA where the slide title gets read multiple times. But for slide content, text and images on the slide are read immediately by screen readers, unless this behavior is turned off by the settings.
Hi Lauren, I am hoping to stop NVDA from reading out the title of the slides multiple times as well and can't see the video you posted about changing the setting in the Player. Could you make it available again?
Great question! A screen reader will read the Slide Title in the Menu first and then read the Slide Title when the slide is highlighted. If you'd like to remove the title from the Player, make sure to uncheck the title in Player Properties. Here's what that looks like.

Hello Sasha!
Thank you for the kind words!
Have you tried hiding the Title in Player Properties? Here's what that looks like in Storyline 360.

These changes were made to Storyline 360 in Update 36. You can read more about the updates that were made to the player here as well.
