Acessibility issue in ipad

Jun 06, 2019

Hi,

On ipad,iphone-When I turn the voiceover on in accessibility setting then many buttons in each screen do not work(including back next). Some buttons work. I have attached few videos. All buttons work if I turn voiceover off in accessibility settings.

Please let me know if there is a fix for this or is accessibility with voiceover on IOS not supported?

Thanks

Sandy

Greetings, Maki!

I'm happy to review the screen reader and button experience with you, and you're right.

Since the original post, Storyline 360 courses now work with JAWS 16 and later, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. We also released a series of enhancements to make slide content more accessible:

For the best guidance, let me gather a few more details from you:

  • What version of Storyline are you using? Click the Help tab, then About Storyline.
  • Could you share more detail on what you're encountering in iOS and Android?
  • Tell me more about the buttons. Are they custom, built-in, menu, in slide?

Hi, Katie,

Thank you for reaching out! Here are my answers to your question:

1. v3.44.23192.0

2. Using TalkBack in Android, I cannot activate the buttons in our Storyline project. Also, TalkBack seems to read everything--so it can access what's in there, but I can't make choices. TalkBack also repeats the title seven times when it gets to a slide.

On the iPad, I discovered I can activate most buttons. The one that doesn't work is a custom button over a background. I cannot tap on the button to even select it.

The NVDA and JAWS screenreaders work fine with the same project.

3. Our buttons are custom built.

I'd like to send you the file--how can I do that privately?

Thanks,

Maki
