Action at timeline end

Mar 25, 2013

Here’s what I’m trying to do.

The first screen introduces the tools Reassign and Move. I have them together because they work in much the same way.

  • In that screen, I include side by side screen captures of the note that appears when you Reassign and when you Move.
  • If the learner clicks on the Reassign image, the screen shows them the 4 options available for Reassign. For each option, they can click a button and see what happens.
  • If the learner clicks on the Move image, same thing – the screen that shows them the 3 Move options.

First tried to do this all on one screen, but separated now in the initial screen, plus one for Reassign and one for Move.

One problem is that I want to display one more layer after they’ve looked at the options – even if they don’t look at all the options.

  • I’ve set the trigger to show the layer when the timeline ends, but only if they have looked at least one of the options.
  • Problem is deciding how long the timeline should be. If it’s too long, they never see the last layer – if it’s too short, they don’t get a chance to look at all the options.
  • I tried this with ‘AND’ instead of ‘OR’ so they have to look at all the options first, but the last layer never shows up no matter how short I make the timeline.

Any ideas?

Thanks Mike,

IE won't allow me to post it - the file's probably too big (96,912 KB)

I did find another way to display that last layer. I added another button called Results under the Options buttons.

Some of my learners were complaining that the automated action moved too fast for them to read, thus the buttons instead of auto animation.

Thanks for the interest, though.
