ActiveX error, and more

Oct 05, 2018

Hello, long time listener, first time poster :)

For the past few days, I keep getting browser errors when I launch courses. In IE, I have to allow ActiveX to get my content to run. In Chrome, the course simply continues to look like it's loading, but I don't actually see anything pop up to allow it to run.

This is happening when I launch the course from our LMS, as well as when I choose View Course with Storyline 360 as well. The course works fine in the Scorm Cloud. I'm assuming it's browser related, but it's both browsers and nothing is apparently new in my browsers.

The newest project is a simple 3 slide presentation. It does have a video and an attachment under Resources (it's a PDF with a shortened name based on recommendations in other error threads.)

Courses that ran fine last week are not opening this week. All courses have been created in Storyline 360. At first, I was using the modern player, but thinking it may have been related to that, I went back to the classic player.

Any ideas? Thank you!!

Hey M B and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

You mention that your course works fine in SCORM Cloud. Is that when using the same browsers as your LMS? That would seem to indicate an issue with your LMS.

Are you on the latest versions of the browsers you are using?

If you're publishing for LMS and clicking 'View Course' within the software, this is the same thing as viewing locally, which is not recommended, as you should view in the intended environment.
