Adaptive communication tool

Mar 26, 2017

Hi all

I'm trying to create an adaptive programme that can be run on a tablet for my non-c0mmunicative daughter. As she browses through various categories she will select a word or symbol to add to her sentence. These will all come from a variety of slides. As she finds the symbol or word she wants, the plan is to select a checkbox under or near the image to add that selection to a summary slide, then returning to browse for more, adding more to the summary slide. When finished, she can go to the summary slide. Audio will be added to each symbol/word, so when she presses play, the sentence will play back. A clear button will remove everything from the summary slide. In my head I thought I could somehow use references, but after hours of experimenting I'm getting nowhere. Does anyone have any great ideas how I can build the summary slide as each symbol is selected? Thanks in advance.

Hi Kim

are you saying using variables that are triggered when the checkbox or symbol is selected is not working?

Hard to say without seeing your file why the variable references aren't working but if you have a .story file started even with a couple of slides can you share it - might make it easier for folks to help you with a solution.
