My projects are timed, so the user cannot progress until the voiceover is complete. As such, I just need a simple 'pause' button for all 45(yes you read that correctly, 45 mandatory) slides.
It looks like Sandra and Michael were able to offer a few solutions for a pause button. That's the great thing about Storyline - there's usually more than one way do something! Be sure to let us know if you need any further assistance!

Add a button with the trigger, on click pause media or pause timeline. Is that what you need? Or are you asking something else?
You can put that pause button to pause/resume the timeline on the slide master, so that is shows up on all slides.
