Add a tick on one slide when another is viewed
Mar 06, 2013
Hi
i know there have been several variable posts but obviously I am missing something!
I have a story with several scenes, at the end of the first scene it branches off to several other scenes by clicking on a grouped object (a picture of a postit and text).
I would like a tick to appear on this postit so when they come vback to this slide they can see what they have done.
I have set the initial state of the tick to hidden.
i have created a T/F variable on the first slide in another scene when the timeline starts
I have set a change state dependant on if the variable changes
What am I missing?
Thanks

Hi Michelle,
On the slide where you want the tick to appear, you add a trigger (when timeline starts) that changes the tick depending on the value of your variable (condition true). Click on the cogwheel of your base slide and change the return value to set to initial state
Hope it helps

Hi, IWould that work?
It is the menu slide where the tick is to appear. By the end it will have 6 ticks on it at the end. I don't want ticks on the actual visited slides.
So, menu slide, 6 boxes, A, B, C, D, E, F
menu slide, click on box A, go to slide A1, A2, A3, back to menu slide, Box A has tick
menu slide, click on box B, go to slide B1, B2, B3, back to menu slide, Box B has a tick
menu slide, click on box C, go to slide C1, C2, C3, back to menu slide, Box C has a tick
Does this make more sense?
Thanks
yep it does.
This means that you have to take care of the ticks when the timeline starts.
If you set when returning 'set to initial state' then the timeline is restarted.
So if you put your triggers and their logic at the "start of the timeline" then it should work

I quickly threw something together
Here's the source file.
The tick will appear when you return to the menu after having visited all slide within a given scene
Does this help ?
