Add element in the middle of a slide?
Nov 15, 2017
Hey.
I recently gained access to a number of eLearning courses developed in Articulate Storyline. I need to make some alterations to the courses though, as some of the expressions and terms that are used are different in my case.
Therefore, my plan was that I was going to add a sound to the audio track to make the viewer aware of a change, and then show a text with the alteration. However, when I add the sound to the existing audio track, everything following this gets skewed, since it no longer fits the audio because I added the sound in the middle of the track :(
Therefore, my question is this: is it possible to insert the sound in the middle of all the elements, so I basically just extend the entire slide with a few seconds, in which the sound is inserted along with an explanatory text?
Don't know if this is understandable, but here it goes :) Thanks!
Best regards,
Jesper

Hi Jesper -
Here are a couple of ideas for inserting audio clips at the end of each slide:
Hi David. Thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid you misunderstood the question (or I didn't explain it properly). I'll try with an illustration - see the attachment.
No. 1 is what I have at the moment. What I was wondering is if I can insert fx an audio file (see No. 2) and ask all the other objects in the slide to automatically expand their duration, so that it matches the duration of the object I have inserted?
Hi Jesper,
If you add a sound effect to your existing audio (making it longer) and re-insert it on the slide, the timeline will automatically increase for all other items on the slide.
Are you sure, Linda? I am currently working on adjusting a number of eLearning courses. In relation to this, I need to insert an audio segment to the already existing track, but after I have done this, all the graphics being shown following this new insert is out of sync with the audio...
I misunderstood your question. If you are syncing the images to the audio, you will have to adjust them again after you insert the new audio.
Okay, that answers my question - no easy work-around, guess I'm just gonna have to buckle down and get to work - thanks for the help :)
