I have three monitors and often undock the timeline, trigger, and variable panels and then move them to other displays. The ability to undock panels is an incredibly useful feature. However, resizing panels requires manually dragging the window's edges. I'd like to suggest adding a maximize/restore button and enabling edge snap. This improvement would make it much easier to use a multi-monitor arrangement.
Your method is especially workable for a more static day-to-day layout. As it is, I use a lot of software to achieve my aims, with numerous apps running most of the time.
Window arrangements must be fluid and are determined by session requirements. I'd love to see improved pane functionality that augments both efficiency and speed.

I never re-dock those panels. That way, the next time I open the project, the panels are where I want them.
