Adding a calculator to the player

Hello Heroes - 

I have a project to create an assessment for a live class that has narrow parameters.  One such is that the computer the test is on cannot access the network.  The client also wants a calculator for the quiz takers to use to perform calculations that can be linked like a resource in the upper right hand of the Player. 

Have any of you done this?  I tried browsing to the location of calc.exe on a Microsoft PC.  That got me a 404 error in the published content in our LMS.  I understand that but then I tried to create a hyperlink on a webpage and that kinda worked but there were two security warnings before the app launched.  I think the last may be my solution but my students will just have to click through to the app.  

Just want to hear your thoughts.
