Adding an image to the glossary

Apr 17, 2013

Hi

Can I add an image to an item in the glossary?

If yes, how?

Thanks

Shevi

Hi there Shevi,

Currently, I don't believe it's possible to insert an image into Storyline's glossary. That would be a pretty cool feature, though. I'd recommend sending in a feature request to our development team if you'd like to see this in a future version of the software.

In the meantime, you could try using a custom tab for the player that could either jump to a slide, or light box a slide that contains a list of the glossary items you'd like to use, along with images. This obviously would take some time to build in your course, but may be a good option for your course, if you need to display images. Since this would be inserted as a player tab, the user could access this from any slide in your course. Personally, I'd go with a light box, so it looks more like a pop-up from the player itself.

Another option would be to use an Engage glossary interaction in your course. Engage glossaries enable you to list the content similar to Storyline's, but with a little more customization available for the definitions. Here's an example of an Engage glossary interaction. You could insert the interaction into your Storyline course and use the tab as well. If you're interested in trying this out, there's a 30 day free trial available for Engage. More information can be found here.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Christine
