I am trying to add Spanish captions to a video that is recorded in English and hosted on Vimeo. It is password protected.
Is there a way to embed this video into a Storyline file and add the Spanish captions? Would the user be able to put in the password and view the video with the captions?
Hi Anna, the captions would need to be added on the Vimeo side. Is it a video that you cannot request access to in order to add the captions? If not, the next best option might be just to offer a transcript within Storyline.
With the video being hosted on Vimeo, you wouldn't be able to get information from the video such as current time in order to show a caption. You would need a custom WebObject/JavaScript implementation for something like that.
Is the video available anywhere else? Can you download an insert into SL? I'm just trying to think of other options where you might have more control.
Sam is correct, you should be able to upload your caption file in Vimeo. I believe you can also enter the domain name of the LMS that the course will be launched from, so that only users from that domain can view the video, instead of having to enter a password.

Thank you both, Sam and Michael! We got the permissions to download the file, which makes it much easier :)
