Adding choose your Character Function

Mar 22, 2016

I am trying to add a "choose your character" function to my e-learning. I created a variable and have it changing based on the character they select. I am then changing the state of the employee (the 3 states are the 3 employee options) in the next slide based on the variable number. There is a disconnect and am not having success. Can someone offer some guidance? Thank you

Sam,

I suggest that you change these triggers from "Add" to "Set" variables. If someone clicks #1, then changes their mind and clicks #2, they will end up with #3. If you use "Set", it doesn't matter how many times they click, the variable will be set correctly.

Then on the next slide, change the state of the avatar when the timeline starts, and recognize that you have to be willing to make the same change on every single slide that has an avatar.

It doesn't work to change it when the variable changes. The variable changes on a different slide, so this slide can't hear it change. This slide can tell what it is, just not when it changes.

I'm not sure where you are going after that, but if you are going to change expressions, (like it looks like you might in Slide 1.6), then you are going to need 9 triggers - 1 for each expression of each character.
