Adding Custom Button on the Storyline Player

May 14, 2020

Is there a way to add a print button (or any other type of button) after the Next button on the Modern Player?  I've sifted through lots of comments and just can seem to find a direct answer that works for SL360.  Asking this question again to see if there's new insight here.

Hi LaRhonda!

Great question!

Here's a quick way to use Javascript to add a button to the Modern player: Video Link

1. Open up the Player Properties.

2. Add a Player Tab.

3. Choose to Execute Javascript and add this coding window.print();

4. Click "Ok" to finish adding the button.

Remember that you can't execute javascript in Preview so you'll want to publish to see this in action!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi LaRhonda,

Thank you for clarifying!

Aside from the workflow that Lauren shared, there currently isn't a supported way of moving the Print tab/button where the Player Controls are. However, I did come across a community workaround that shares how they accomplished this using Javascript.
