Adding Fonts?

Jan 29, 2015

Working with Storyline 2 here... Is there something I have to do to add a font so that it shows up correctly in Storyline? There is a font that I'm trying to use for a project and when I select it in Storyline and start typing, it just uses Arial. I know the difference and would rather not use Arial.

Hi Jesse

from your post it sounded like you hadn't already loaded the font.

I had a similar issue where I if I highlighted text in a text box I could change the font to what I wanted using the popup dialog box but I couldn't select it from the Font dropdown - it just kept reverting to Open Sans when I was trying to use a custom font.  I ended up logging it as a bug - no response about it yet though.

Hi Jesse,

It looks like the font you want to use is a variation of Open Sans? You mentioned that one works in Word/Powerpoint - so I'd also expect it to work in Storyline. Are you able to share the font here with us? I don't see that font already on my own system to test it - but changing to other custom fonts I've installed seems to work as expected.

Wendy, did you start it as a case or use the "report a bug" feature from within Storyline? The latter sends the information to our Quality Assurance team, but they don't follow up on those reports (as there is no place for you to enter your information) - just use them to investigate and track issues. If it was a case, do you have a case number so I can follow up?

Thanks Wendy for the case number - I see that John shared the following in his last email to you on December 23:

What's odd is that I was able to change the font on my end without any difficulty. Can you try to click on the outline of the text box and then try to change the font? Can I confirm if the same issue occurs on new text boxes that you create? Is the issue happening only on select text boxes?

Try to select a text box with Source Sans Pro and text size 14, right click on it and choose "set as default text box". Create a new text box. Does the font size still come up as size 16.5?

I would also recommend checking if you have the correct DPI setting in Windows.

Articulate Storyline requires Microsoft Windows to be configured with 96 DPI (dots per inch). Here's how to switch to 96 DPI:http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/articulate-storyline-dpi-support-sl2

If you are still encountering the issue, then please follow the steps in this article:

Just reply to this email if you need more help.
