I have a slide set up with several layers that I want to have come up automatically as the slide plays through the time line. I have the layers set up and have them placed in the time line, but when I play it only shows the base layer and never shows the other layers as it moves through. How can I fix this?
I'm not having any luck adding a trigger to show/hide my layers. How can I do that in Storyline 1?
Part of the reason I asked if you were using SL1 or SL2 is that SL2 has the ability to add cue points or have triggers activate at a certain time. SL1 can activate a trigger on the start of end of a timeline, so depending on how you want to trigger the other layers you might need to figure out a different way. There is a trigger that can activate when media end, so you might be able to add a silent audio file of the length you need and then when it ends, have it trigger the layer.
Update: Ok, tested it and was able to insert 15 seconds audio clip and then have it trigger a layer at the end. Easiest way to use this would be to have a clip as long as your longest slide, insert it, right click and enter audio editor and then chop to the size you need, renaming as needed for organizing purposes. Also, choose mp3 or something compressed as your file format to minimize impact on size.
Update: I had forgotten this link, where Bruce shows how you can use off screen shapes and triggers to change the states of layers as well.

Sara, do you have a trigger that toggles the Show/Hide state of those layers? Also, are you in Storyline 1 or 2?
Storyline 1. And no, I don't have triggers. Thank you, I'll go add those now.
