Adding objects in the middle of the timeline/Moving multiple objects down the timeline at the same time

Nov 24, 2017

Hello,

As I am building my course and sometimes I copy/paste previous slides and keep some of the objects for putting new content I find it very time consuming that every time I add a new object it goes to the top of the timeline and then I have to move it down to the right place. This is worse when I add many objects that are related and then I need to move them down the timeline as they cannot be dragged in batches but only one by one. So here is my question:

Is it possible to add a new object in the middle of the timeline (not referring to the playhead in terms of time but to the order the objects are presented) or if not, is it possible to drag many objects down the timeline at the same time when they are highlighted without having to group them?

Thanks,

Manouela

Hi Manouela,

I feel your pain! I don't think there's a way to initially add an object to the middle of the timeline, but there IS a way to move multiple objects' position on the timeline without grouping them.

First, make sure all of the objects you'd like to move are selected. Then, click "Arrange" in the toolbar and "Send Backward" (or "Bring Forward" depending on which way you'd like the objects to move).

Check out this quick peek recording to see how it works.

Of course, this isn't as easy as being able to drag multiple objects at once, but it's a start. Hope that helps!
