Interesting...nobody actually answered the question, that I can see. Maybe answering questions has gone the way of Help systems and the dodo bird. There is a benefit to Help systems (and answering questions) that fobbing references to Tutorials don't give you: a specific answer to a specific question, unencumbered by a narrative of supplementary material that is without question helpful in the long run, but is a lot of extra baggage in the moment. Lest we forget...
Hi Jeffrey! Is there something that you are needing assistance with. It seems that both users in this thread were able to accomplish what they were looking for.
So, I figured it out myself, which may suggest to some that Help for that
(creating a new scene) is not needed. However, I believe that Help systems
are important for good usability. I believe it is an economic decision for
companies to foist user assistance off on forums, covering the basic tasks
with talking-head/screen-capture videos. As described in my initial post,
the drawback to that approach is that it is a poor use of the user's time,
and, in the forums, transfers the burden from the producing company to the
users and e-heroes: Rather than quickly finding the specific answer in Help,
users have to go to the forum, perhaps search for a string that answers
their question, then if they don't find it, ask the question and wait a few
hours to *maybe* get an answer. And it may take followup, etc. So what
should take a few minutes takes at best hours. Further, monitoring the
forums and responding to questions is a poor use of the "e-heroes" time. The
company saved money, at the expense of users and experts.

I've been reading this thread, but I still can't seem to merge (2) scenes into one. One scene is a PPT slide and the other scene is a video scene (recorded my screen for a demo). I want the video to follow the PPT slide. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just learned how to do it!
Looks great
Can you tell me how to do this. Seems simple but it is not. I am new, just started playing TODAY. Thank you
Hi Dorota and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
Starting today?! How exciting :)
I'm assuming that you are using Storyline 2 then, and there is a great tutorial on using Story View and scenes are included in this.
If you look to the right when you utilize that tutorial, you'll see more tutorials as well.
Thank you lesley, I have figured it out. I shall become e hero sooon...
Watch out I may need help!
Have a great day
dorota
No problem at all Dorota :) You have a great day as well.

In 360, Story view, right mouse click on Scene, select one of the choices for creating scenes:
Hope this helps. Just discovered this today:)
Jim Penson, thank you. You answered the question and cut to the chase, without me having to go anywhere else to get an answer!

Are you able to add scenes while in the trial version or is that function only available with the purchased program?
Becky,
The trial version IS the purchased version. The only difference is that 31 days after you start your trial, SL will not start.
Let us know if you're running into a problem with how Storyline is working! Also, what version are you using?
hi there, this was very helpful
Thanks Jim, I'm using Storyline 3 and had exactly the same questions.... and that's the kinda answer we we're looking for - nice one!
Hi Chris and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Glad to see that this thread was able to help you out as well. Thanks for popping in to share.
Thank you, Jim. I have been looking for this for hours. I love your plain and simple approach. :)
