I have Storyline 2 (with the latest updates) and I have completed a screen recording and can see the recording in the list of items in the "record screen" list. However, I cannot insert the view mode version in a scene. I have tried to add it to an existing (blank) scene and also tried to add to a new scene. It looks like it is adding (inserting) but it never does. I can add a "try" mode just fine but the view mode does not insert.
I just tested a screen recording, and i was able to insert as View mode. Please confirm that you are working locally as described here. Also if this continues, you may want to go over the steps listed here.
we are having the same issue (insert a view mode and the slides just disappear - after it looks like it is working on the insert!) I don't want to add an attachment as it is a REALLY big file but would appreciate an update if anyone has one. thanks so much.
Have you followed all the steps in the links I shared above with Kathy? Unfortunately I do not see any files that were shared from her to troubleshoot, but hopefully she is still subscribed and may chime in with any resolutions.

I am using Windows 8 and have the files saved in Storyline (through screen recording). I tried unistalling and re-installing and still no luck.

I downloaded the most recent version and I am still unable to add View mode. Test & Video yes, but not View.

I was not able to add your recording, however taking a new recording and adding in View mode worked without issue. See attached file.
Could you re record the screen and see if you can add it into a new file?
