Adding subtitles to a project

Hi there,
I'm developing an e-learning module with Articulate Storyline.
I need to add subtitles to each screen.
I don't want to use the Notes as subtitles: I want the users to be able to show and hide the subtitles by clicking on a dedicated button.
I know I can do this by using the Layers: problem is, I would like to display, as subtitles, the text corresponding to the sentence the voice-over is saying, and not the text corresponding to the entire comment of the slide.
Does any one know how I can do this?
Thanks,

Welcome to Heroes, Maud!
Check out Steve's fantastic idea and example over in this other thread and see if it'll work for you. Good luck
Thanks a lot Peter!
This is really helpful.
Thanks Peter, sure, really helpful , but is it possible in articulate studio 13?
It's a real need because we've got 1500 students by distance and several are deafs

Hi Frederic,
That example is specific to Storyline, as Storyline has the added functionality of layers and triggers to help determine when to show the information. If you'd like to see the ability to add closed captions within Studio 13, you may want to share your thoughts in the form of a feature request as those go directly to our product development team.
I was wondering if it is possible to export the audio components of Storyline to a transcription program? Then, I could use the transcribed content in either the notes or in closed captioning. Does that sound viable and/or is it a crazy idea?
I would love some feedback. I've only been trialing the program for three days!
Hi Kerry,
It doesn't sound like a crazy idea. You can export audio, although into a particular transcription program is the piece you'll need to look into further on your end. Here is a tutorial on how to export audio.
You may also want to review this tutorial on creating closed captioning.
When publishing, if you select HTML5, all of your media files will be exported to a content folder. Unfortunately, these aren't named in a way that makes it easy to match up to a slide.
