Adding the name from course to subject line email automatically

Oct 07, 2013

Hi all, I am emailing automatically at the end of the course and many thanks to all the posts, I can do this, now comes the tricky part. I would like the email to insert the name of the person from the course into the subject line or body of the email.

is it possible?

Hi Lawrie:

I assume you have created one of more variables for the persons name. If that is completed, check out my earlier post here:

Scroll all the way to the bottom and download the Contact_Form.story file.

In this contact form, I have the user inset their name and such. The JavaScript then creates a formatted email that you can test after publishing.

Hi Lawrie:

You cannot run JavaScript on your local computer, you need to upload the published story to a web server.

Once you upload the output, it will work. Unfortunately, you cannot control a local mail program with web based scripting, that will be a major security leak.

If this has worked for you, please confirm as correct answer so other will see it works.
