I am trying -- unsuccessfully - to add a variable that will not allow the user to advance unless they have clicked on all of the markers. I am not using buttons or layers, just markers - since the states don't change on a marker, what do I need to do to make sure that a user cannot advance unless they have looked at all of the markers?
How are you adding variables? Using an "add" trigger based on them clicking each marker and then allowing the user to click next when the variable equals X?
Yes, there are 6 markers on the slide, and I want them to advance only when all of the markers are clicked, (and the user can click on any one to start with, but they do need to click all of them before advancing.
Have a look at the attached example. I added a Visited state to each marker and then chnage the state of the Next button to Normal once all six markers are in Visited state (meaning, they have been clicked). No variable neccessary... Hope that helps.

You may want to begin with this tutorial on temporarily disabling the next button.

Create a variable for each marker: Marker1, Marker2, etc.
When the user clicks the first marker, before any other action, adjust the value of Marker1 to true.
Whatever method you use to advance to the next slide, give it a condition to advance only if Marker1 = true, and Marker2 = true, etc.
Thanks Michael and Walt for sharing those ideas and an example. Let us know if you need anything else Lisa!
this works! thank you Michael.
