Hello! Has anyone tried to use Adobe Edge to build and place animations in Articulate Storyline? I am looking for tips, tricks and techniques as I blunder around placing my Adobe Edge Web object on a course I am building.
i tried placing the adobe edge animation in articulate storyline 2, i got everything to work in the ipad. however, the edge animation did not play when trying to view the storyline project offline on the ipad.
It looks like you've reached out for help on a few different threads, I'm not sure what the file type of the adobe edge animation is, or how you're adding it into Storyline - but you may want to share a bit more information so that we could point you in the right direction in terms of how we'd expect this to work.
I see you've been also talking to my colleague Mike here, and you mentioned you opened a case as well with our Support engineers? Do you have a case number so I could follow along? After submitting here, you should have received an email from Support@articulate.com.
I looked based on your name listed here - and didn't find a new case for you. Did you see a message after submitting at this page here that it was submitted? You may want to check your junk/spam folder and confirm that it didn't go there by accident. If you don't see anything, go ahead and submit a new case.
i think that since i am placing a link to where the animation and its files are located in the server as a "web object" the player will always pull from that link to load the content. I think maybe i should try to place a .aom file exported from edge. that way articulate takes everything along when it publishes and it will be all available to download for offline reading.... i will need to try that next.
Not the .aom. Instead of uploading your animation to the server, rename the launch file to index.html. Then point your Web Object dialog to the folder containing your entire structure and the index.html file. It'll suck that into the Storyline source and bundle the whole thing on export.
Thanks for sharing the case number, and I've connected this thread to the case you have opened so that our team can look into this further and determine as Mike mentioned in the other thread if it's something we can offer support for.
no problem, i understand. i think it is good to share the information on the boards for all of the other individuals posting or researching about edge and articulate. you have a great product.
So... did you ever figure out the correct settings for Edge? Mine plays on my desktop, but when I load it to SharePoint or our LMS it doesn' play the slide with the Web Part. I've tried checking all the boxes in the Edge Publish Settings, and publishing multiple times. I name the file index.html.
I'm not sure that folks are still subscribed to this thread so you may want to use the "contact me" button on their profiles to reach out to them directly to determine if they were able to resolve the situation.

Storyline has a insert web object option. It is under the insert tab. Not sure if this help or is even what you are looking for.
