Advanced Slider Properties?

I'm implementing a slider into one of my courses, and I've run into a bit of a snag. I have the slider set so when learners drag the slider, different layers show. However, I only want them to visit the layers one at a time as opposed to dragging and being able to see all at once. Is it possible to force the slider to drop at each point? I also set the slider for when the learner released, but that doesn't solve the problem either.
I hope I was clear! Please let me know if there are any solutions. Thanks!

Duplicate the slider on each layer. Set each slider to use the same variable. That way, all the sliders have their button at the same spot, but when a new layer appears, the current slider loses contact with the mouse, and it stops sliding. The user will have to click again to establish contact with the slider on the new layer.
Interestingly enough, most people intuitively create slider and layer interactions this way, then need help arranging it so there is only one slider in use. :)
Walt,
Thank you! It works much better now. However, I've run into an issue. I can progress through the slider just fine if I only drag right. When I I move the slider left, it sometimes resets or gets stuck in between two layers. Any thoughts?
It would help to see it in action, if you could attach your .story file.

This is an example, as the original is for a client. It's not pretty, but I copied the triggers. I just tested it by going left to right, and I wasn't able to move on.
Thanks, Walt!
You might have a specific reason for using a slider on each layer, but for me it would be simpler to use the slider on the baselayer only to show layers. See attached a revised file.
Thank you, Michael! I originally had the slider set up this way, but users were able to slide through all layers without watching them. By Walt's suggestion, I placed the slider on each layer to make users click again to drag the slider.
Ah, sorry...serves me right for not reading the whole thread :-)
