What happens when you choose to open the file from the "all files" selection? AIFF would have to be encoded to mp3 regardless of whether it shows up in the extension filter or not.
Alex,
When I choose it from “All files”, it is imported into the project. I suppose what confounds me is that .AIFF and other formats are there but SL360 didn’t recognize it as that format.
As for the conversion to MP3, I’ll remember not to worry about my VO’s so much in the future.
It is funny that the filter didn't pick up the extension - the dialog box you showed literally does nothing else but check if files carry said extension (even if the file is, say, originally a txt file you happened to rename to .aiff - it will attempt to load once you select it and then throw up an error).
Also, when all is said and done, I'd keep my sources as aiff or WAV regardless of the final mp3 output, just in case I need to edit stuff in/out of those - keeping "cleaner" sources help in those cases.
Anyway, glad you managed to insert your Audio files, one way or another.
