I want users to be able to make a layer visible and hidden multiple times throughout a slide. The layer will contain captions which will need to be aligned with the video on the base layer.
The problem I'm having is that the only options for layers is to either resume from last place or start again from initial starting point. This means that when users are clicking the trigger button to make the captions layer visible, the captions do not align with the correct point of the video.
Is there a way to keep the layer playing even when not visible? Or is there a different approach I could take to include optional captions?

Perhaps others in the community have some ideas for your design and it may be helpful to share your .story file to understand what you are trying to accomplish.

Thank you very much for your advice!
The suggestions on other discussions have been quite helpful but I'm still not able to match the timings of the layers.
I might have to take a different approach and have the captions appear permanently.
I'll keep trying and update if I have any success!
