All links to external files lost.
Mar 28, 2014
I have a project that has somehow lost it's links to all content that was not made in Articulate. So all video files, jpeg images are not showing up within the project file. I have various versions of the project, the previous version is completely fine but of course I have lost a few days work as well as a lot of new ideas.
To make this clear, the previous version is something like 1.5gig where the current version is now only 16meg.
Is there anything I have done to cause this problem that I can avoid in the future?
I obviously have all the files still on my harddrive, and even have a published project in Scorm and Web format. Is there anything I can do to recover the links other than going through and re-directing every single object?

Hi Patrick,
Unfortunately there isn't any way to recover the elements from a published project. You mentioned that all the items were on your hard drive, and it's also worth reviewing the additional items in this article in regards to file names and file paths, as that can also cause issues with your file.
Hi, I have a similar problem. In my project I use markers to store reference materials (external link). Many of that links are lost when the project is published.
The same issue happens with links inside text boxes.
The lenght of those url are less than 256 characters.
Thank you!
Maurizio
Hi Maurizio,
Are you linking to a URL or a relative link on your system? When you say that they're lost, do you mean that they don't work within the published output or that they don't direct you correctly to the content? You'll want to make sure that when you're testing the published content you're doing so within the intended publish environment as detailed here.
