"Allow download" fails: Is it only for certain iPads?

Jan 31, 2013

I am evaluating Storyline for my company. I have uploaded two courses to Articulate Online and followed the instructions for enabling the "allow downloading" feature very carefully (http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=u5iuioso20i1).

Yet, when the courses show up in my Library within the Ipad app, there is no "Available Offline" switch in the upper right corner where it should be. I am testing this on an iPad 1 with plenty of free space. Does this feature only work on later iPads? Is there a size limitation on the courses that can use this feature? My course is 26MB.

Could I be doing something wrong? I hope so, because the "Allow Download" feature is critical for my company. I love the rest of the product, but inability to view offline is an absolute deal breaker. Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Michael!

Can you verify what version of Storyline you're running? I'm assuming you're running the most recent release, if you just downloaded it, but I want to double-check. You can find this information by clicking on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline".

You've confirmed that the iPad is connected to the internet when attempting to download the course, correct?

If you're able to share a link for the published course, or share your .STORY file here, I'd be happy to test it on my iPad. You're also welcome to send it to us privately, if you prefer.

Thanks!
