I am trying to make a course 508 compliant by including the ALT text in the buttons on the master slides. However, the ALT text does not appear on the scene slides. Any ideas?
The alt text would be what is read out by a screen reader - but it wouldn't necessarily display on your slide. Are you using JAWS to test the 508 compatibility?
I type the Alt text (“Link to Resources”) for a button in the Size and Position window in the master. When I close the Master and check the Size and Position window on the slide there is no Alt text.
If you've added the Alt text to your slide master, when you go to look at that button on the individual slide - you won't be able to access the size/position window but you should see the same elements/text one the slide itself. To have the Alt text read out - you'll need to use a screen reader such as JAWS.
If you're still having difficulty, can you share your .story file so that I can take a look?
