Hi, I have built a quiz but i want the users to be able to exit, resume and return to the quiz but i have used the resume state as saved.. setting, so they cannot repeat the quiz and do better at the answers! The problem i am having is after so many slides when i test it, the resume takes me to the wrong slide. I have tried Scorm 1.2 and 2004 but getting the same issue. Please could someone help, not sure what is happening???

That normally means it is over the scorm data limit have you tried scorm 2004 3rd or 4th edition?
Hi, thank you! Yes have tried Scorm 2004 but it is behaving the same way unfortunately ☹

Have you changed the edition when publishing to scorm 2004? 1st and 2nd edition have the same data limit
Ok, thank you Phil. I am trying 2004 version 4 now. Fingers crossed it works 😊

Hi Phil, good and bad news. With Scorm 2004 version 4, I could exit resume all the way through to the correct slide. Then I got to the end slide selected exit, then relaunched and it took me back to the beginning with no slides having been saved at all?

How are you marking completion? Is it slides viewed or passing the test?
It sounds like you passed the module, which in most LMS's will then put the course into review mode which will ignore the resume data.
Hi, yes I am not marking on scoring just on completion of all slides. So upon completion, they will always have the option to go back in and revisit the slides from scratch, and the resume is ignored. In this case, instead of scoring/reporting the score, I have asked the learners to make a note of their score and share with their manager! However, concerned they can just start course again and try again, any way around this at all? I only ideally wanted them to have one go 😊

Did you view all of the slides? that would mark it as complete, it may be an idea to create a new scene with a slide they can never reach and mark complete based on 100% of all slides. This should then work as you want.
Hi, yes I did set it as view all 57 slides and having viewed them the course successfully marked as complete upon exiting. Upon relaunching, this is where it then started from the beginning?

Would this mean the course would never show as complete in the LMS?

Yep, or you could try editing the configuration.js file after publish and set:
var SCORE_CAN_ONLY_IMPROVE = true;
var REVIEW_MODE_IS_READ_ONLY = false;
Which might force it to ignore review mode. But should still mark complete.
Hi Phil, thank you! Mmm not sure how to do that. Is there a way I can send you the file please? Apologies in the Uk and this is an urgent file to finalise a year long project, just got this hurdle 😊

Hi Sarah
I am based in the UK.
This is the only hack i can think of to get what you want to happen, after you publish open the files and find the configuration.js file. Open it in Notepad find those two lines and change the true or false to match above. The save as configuration.js and zip.
More information can be found here:

No guarantees this will get where you want but best chance.
I can edit it for you but this edits a published scorm so would need doing each time you publish.
Thank you Phil for all of your help. Very much appreciated. I will try and finalise this tomorrow and let you know if any more issues if ok.
Thanks again
Sarah
