Animated object freezing where user clicks on a trigger...

May 02, 2014

I'm having a problem with my 'Back' and 'Next' buttons which I have placed a 'fly in' animation from the bottom of the screen.

I'm finding that if the user clicks a trigger to open another layer of the slide before the buttons have 'flown in' the stick at the bottom of the screen and the user has to click right at the bottom of the screen to click back or next.

Has anyone come across this and if so is there a workaround?

Thanks,

Louis

Hi Louis,

It does sound strange that with the pause timeline of base layer option deselected, the animations on the base layer aren't completing.

Whilst I can't offer a reason why this is happening, I can offer a workaround:

  • Place a shape over each of the items that trigger a layer to be displayed
  • Remove the outline and make the fill 100% transparent so they act as a mask but won't be visible to the user
  • Place each mask at the start of the timeline and adjust their duration so they are only on-screen for the time it takes for the buttons to animate

Would that work for you?

Antony
