Animating a text box with several "bullet points"

I have a text box with several items that I'd like to turn on in a timed sequence. I know I have been able to do this at times and not have to break it up into individual text boxes.

This time (and other times also), when I click the text box and then select the Entrance Animations choice on the far left of the Ribbon, it only gives me "Fade In", "Grow", etc. and not the option for having it come in by first level paragraph. The result is the same whether I just highlight the text box itself, or all of the text within it. I do have a line break in between each text line.

So what am I doing wrong???
