I have a question regarding creating a swirl animation on an object - a bit like the ones use for the 'Markers'.
Does anyone know is this is possible? I want to create a square with no background but with the borders animated such like a marker... not sure if I am asking too much
Another option would be to create the desired animation in PowerPoint and export as a video file. You could then import the video into Storyline and trigger on a hover state.
I need the centre to be transparent., I presume the PPT option wouldn't work?
I can't remember if PPT's video output is transparent. I know this works fine if you have Studio and use that to create a single slide SWF (which you embed as Flash in SL).
Re animated GIFs, check out Photoscape. Once again, I can't remember if it handles transparencies though.
I see this thread is very old and you probably have what you need, but here is something that might generate what you want, including the transparency.

Hi Tony
Flash and other such animation tools would do this ... as would creating an animated GIF (provided the colour palette is okay).
Thank you, I will need to investigate the options you gave me.
