animating states

Hi all,

Is there a way to animate a selected state of a picture? Briefly, I would like to have a picture with some text on (like a poster slide that links to a video on a slide layer). When that picture is selected I would like a light box effect to slide up with a play button on it.

I wanted to use states to avoid too many objects on the time line and layers as I have a few layers already for each video tutorial. It's not essential bit it would make the experience more slick.

Any help would be much appreciated.
