Animation / Audio Synch Delay

Im currently using Storyline (Update 1) (1208.804)...Although in working previously with Studio 09 I have seen similar issues arise on past projects.

I built a slide yesterday which involves 9 - 10 fade in / fade out animations, an audio track, and 2 zoom regions...Everything was synched great yesterday but today playback is fairly inconsistent..

I am trying to have one particular image (Picture 1) fade in right when thea drum beat kicks in on my audio track.  An example of the issue is shown in my screenshot.

The only way I can now get "Picture 1" to appear right right the drum kicks in is by shifting the audio back in time by 0.5 seconds... 

Upon previewing / publishing the two come in precisely at the same time (even though the timeline clearly shows them occurring at different times). 

Am I expecting too much out of a slide like this.  To me it doesnt seem like a ton of animation but maybe Im pushing it? Like I said, I saw very similar issues with Studio 09 so I dont know if this is just a long standing problem or not...

Any thoughts?
