Wendy -- Hi. Hope you're still seeing this after two years, I'm still not able to get this to work. I'm in SL3 and not seeing the animation in the copied state. I'm tried buttons, shapes and images. Also, even if the solution Steve proposed works, I'm in trouble if I need to edit or change... as soon as I click edit states, I'm back to grayed out. Any suggestions? Thx
I'm running SL 360 but I've done another Peek video to show you how I have it working. If you want to share your file or just the slide I'll take a look for you
I tried this and it seems States are not working predictably in the latest versions. I followed your steps and I end up with something weird. Animation definitely does not work in States unless you do a lot of "hacks" and even so it is offset and stuff.
Is it working as intended when Animations are removed from states? I believe they used to be part of states.

Hi Steve
here is a quick and dirty video - you need to add the animation to the normal state then copy that to the new state.
Hope attached helps

Hi there, Soren! Can you share a bit more about the weird behavior you're seeing? If you can include a sample slide, that'd be even better.
If we've got a bug happening here, we want to be sure we identify it so we can begin looking at next steps.
