Animations not available on slide master states

Oct 05, 2016

Hello,

I am trying to add animations to the hover states on my Master Slides.  However, after many different attempts, the entire animation tab continues to be grayed out and I cannot select anything.  It will allow me to add animations to the normal state, but as soon as I click on "Edit States" it grays out everything on the tab.  What am I missing?  (I am assuming it is something simple that I am just not seeing)

Thank you!

Hi,

the best way doing buttons on a masterslide may be inserting a preset button with the existing mouse over state. But there is a little "trick" you could use too. Just create your state, cut out (strg+x) your element and insert (strg+v) it. I tested it, works fine. BUT not with animations. ;D They get all crazy disco flickering, except you really hit the middle of the element.

Hi Joe,

I was also testing this and was able to add the animations within a state - to a new object, not the existing object. Is that what you're trying to do? If you'd like it to be the same object, just animated you can remove the existing object within the state and add a new instance of it - that one you'd be able to animate.

There is no limit to what you can include in a feature request - so why not imagine specifically?

For animations, the same change would need to occur on the individual slides (not the masters) based on how the objects are technically the same and not leaving/appearing - thats why applying the animation to a "new version of the object" in a state allows it to work.

Hope that helps clarify!
