Animations removed after update

Nov 21, 2013

It seems that since the most recent SL update, when I change the expression or pose on a character, any animations for that character are removed.  Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Gordon,

I'm not sure I understand, you applied some animation effects to a character (based on when they're state changed) and when you updated to Storyline update 4, those animations were removed? Are you able to share the .story file here with us to take a look at? If so, please let us know what slides/characters you're referring to and what the animation was supposed to look like. If you'd prefer to not share it here in the forums, you're also welcome to share it privately here with us.

Sorry I did not explain this clearly Ashely. What I am saying is that when I have an existing character and I go in and edit their expression (for example), the animations I had assigned to that character disappear.  I don’t recall this happening before I updated to the latest version of SL.

I hope I explained it better this time!

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for the additional information. I just tested this on a file, and at first glance when I changed the characters pose it looked like the animation disappeared, but if I went back to the home tab or the animation tab, I could see that it was still applied and worked in preview. If yours is disappearing completely, I'd suggest starting by checking to see if this happens in a new file as well. If not, you could import your Storyline course into this new version. If it also happens in the new empty file, I'd then conduct a repair of Storyline.
