Announcing Storyline 2 Update 7, Storyline 1 Update 10, and Articulate Updater (iOS 9 support)
Sep 15, 2015
Hi everyone,
Good news: We just released updates to Storyline 2, Storyline 1, and the Articulate Updater to add support for iOS 9 in published output.
Apple plans to release iOS 9 tomorrow (September 16, 2015).
The Storyline 2 update also adds support for Google Chrome 44 and later on Android devices, and crushes a few bugs.
Get these latest updates here:
The Articulate Updater scans and updates Storyline 2, Storyline 1, and Studio '13 published content to make it compatible with iOS 9 without having to re-publish your courses.
We're working on finalizing Studio '13 Update 7 for iOS 9 support, which we'll release soon.
Update: Studio '13 Update 7 with iOS 9 support is also available.
We'll auto-update all published Articulate Online content soon, too.

Why does it launch in Chinese? It's quite hard to find the language settings but I managed. Then exited SL2 and relaunched. All normal again.
Hi Richard,
We've seen some users who encountered that issue when installing an update, and you'll want to review the information here in regards to how to fix it.
Hi Ashley,
The steps that are explained are exactly what I did. It proved to me that I canactually find my way in SL2 in another language. Altough the intuitive User Interface is also very helpful.
Thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work., Great fan!
Thanks for the update Richard and glad you were able to navigate through in Chinese! :-)
I downloaded the install file for update 7 and when I run it I get prompted to select a language and then I click the install now button and then I get a message that the installation failed and it stops. Do you have any idea why this is happening?
Hi Carolyn,
Without knowing more about your set up and system, it's difficult to say - but I'd ask for you to reach out to our support team so that they can take a better look at your set up and the behavior you're experiencing.
Will Articulate Storyline 3 be released any time soon? Or will Articulate just be providing more updates to Storyline 2?
Hi Brianna,
We don't share information in regards to our product road map or new features/releases so I don't have a timeframe or answer to either of your questions. Our team is always keeping an eye on potential fixes for the current versions and what new things we may be able to introduce in the future. If you have particular thoughts or ideas that you'd like to see you can share your thoughts in the form of a feature request.
I am concerned about the added support for iOS9. What support was added? Will previously publshed courses under version 6 not run in iOS9? Do all the prior courses need to be republished with version 7?
The release notes have just enough information to not really inform.
Sam
Hi Sam,
The release notes just include the basic notation of what was fixed or included - and the iOS9 issues are more detailed here. The second part of that article has a fix associated with updating previously published courses - and you'll want to use that if your users are updating to iOS9 but if they'll be using an earlier iOS then it may not be something you have to worry about right away.
So it's really an Articulate Mobile Player fix. There's no issue in IOS 9 if AMP isn't used.
Sam
Hi Sam,
I haven't experienced it myself, but I know there were some audio issues as well with the HTML5 output. So the general reference of support for iOS9 is across the board for HTML5 and AMP, but that article references a particular error or element you may see in the Mobile Player.
Did you follow the instructions to disable antivirus
The message gives a solution, you may need to get IT to install, you could try right clicking and installing as an admin.
Hi Christoph,
I'm sorry to hear about the error you've run into. As Phil mentioned you may need to work with your IT team to disable the antivirus or look at having them installing it as an admin if you're unable to do so yourself. If you continue to experience difficulty you're welcome to connect with our Support team to see if there are any additional issues that could be interfering with your set up.
Hi, I just installed the storyline 2 update 7 yesterday, but now I couldn't export translation. Before on update 4 it just work fine. Please help. Im running on win 8
Hi Christine,
Thanks for reaching out here and sorry to hear about the issue you've encountered. Can you confirm that you're working on local project files and exporting locally as detailed here and what version of Word you're using and that it matches the system requirements.
If you're still having difficulty, is it just this one file or all files you're trying to export? If it's just the one file I'd suggest going through the import process to try it from a new .story file. If it's happening in all your files, can you connect with our Support team so that we can gather a bit more information about the behavior.
Great idea about the Updater!
Thanks Gabe...
Glad this was helpful to you as well Michael :)
Ugh. I'm just now starting to get nasty emails from customers about content no longer running on their iPads. I have hundreds of lessons I'll have to deal with. I hope this updating procedure is quick and easy...
I've had minor issues with the iPad on this release. I'll start a thread.
Hi Russ,
I've heard the updater worked pretty quickly for other users - but feel free to keep us posted.
Sam, we'll keep an eye out for your other thread.
I've done some test updates via FTP and the updater does work easily and smoothly. It'll take me a couple of hours, but it could have been much worse. Thanks for the quick delivery of the updater.
Thanks Russ for the update and I'm happy to hear it's progressing along well.
Interesting; tried the updater on three of my drives, all internal. It found 800 files that needed updating. When i completed, it went into update mode, but only processed successfully 6 of the 800; each of those was a zip file. Clicking on one of the failed entries, I got the message that the app was looking for a TMP file but couldn't find it...
