Any known software for purchase to convert zip files to video
Oct 08, 2013
Hi,
My department purchased Storyline because we want to make online content and being able to publish as LMS is a great feature and works great with our LMS.
Recently, I've been tasked with turning a power point slide deck (10-12 slides) into a video with narration so that end product is more like a fancy, narrated presentation rather than a slide deck and a memo. The problem with that is that when I publish as a web file, and I get the zip files, I don't have the means to make those zip files be a video. I've been working with my IT department to gain certain access to servers, but that is usually access to sites specific to my specific department in HR. Ultimately, do you know if there is software I can download or buy that would like me make the Storyline published zip files into a video file that I can easily send to people without needing access to servers, knowing how to extract files, etc? Any help or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Hi Stephanie! If you need to create a video from a PowerPoint deck, you can do that directly from PowerPoint. In PPT 2010 you'll find it under File » Save & Send » Create a video
Would that work for what you need?
Hi Mike,
That might work -- but I think they like having buttons for next slide and things with Lightboxes and stuff...
In a video, the buttons for Next/Previous and any buttons that might trigger lightboxes won't work anyway. You can always run your Storyline project in a web browser and screen record it with either Storyline or (even easier) Replay. The result would be an .MP4 video.
You could always insert the video from PowerPoint into Storyline (or Replay, etc) and add any "extras" like lightboxes, etc that way.
